I'm an English expat constantly struggling to be understood in a different country. I work in the cut throat world trying to bring "YARRR" and "Ne'er-Do-Well" into regular conversation My swear word of choice is Stink Nugget. I'm a yarn snob.

Home made shit

A new obsession looms...

I'm now in love with home made yarns and clothes and stuff. I bought this yarn from Knit Pixie, that reminded my of my Sis's hair. I was thinking about knitting her a wig, but decided to make a bag out of it instead.

Now... I also found this site that I think is awesome and something that I could do if I wasn't so lazy, and I think S's sis A would like as well.

What a waste

I'm such a dork... I've just wasted a minute of my time finding out which Nigerian spammer I am. I only did it after I didn't like the result of which file extension I was (.rm - whatever)

You are FLORENCE OKAN. YOUR FATHER IS A VERY WEALTHY COCOA MERCHANT FROM IVORY COAST. HE TOOK YOU SO SPECIAL. YOU NOW LIVE IN GHANA. YOUR FATHER WAS POISONED. YOU WANT TO SHARE HIS MONEY WITH ME.

Oh yeah... the PS3 - pt 3

Because I know people are interested

A tribute to WALLace GUYford - pt 2

So, in case you missed the stellar pre E3 Xbox 360 fuss and this gem of a screen shot from the $400 million waste of space, I present to you... WALL GUY aka Wallace Guyford.

From Perfect Dark Zero, and obviously showcasing the graphical prowess of the N64... I mean XBox 360.

S was so impressed by the above, that he wanted me to document his tribute to Wallace throughout E3.

... got the big guns out of the way... now on to the laughable...

Wall guy at the NGage booth... WTF is up with that? Lamest of show.

Wall guy at Blizzard "Oooo we are showing nothing new"

Vintage Wall guy

Wall guy at Rockstar "We are too cool to actually show our games"

Your doom will come, and I will laugh.

And last but not least... Wall guy at The SHREK SUPER SLAM BOOTH!

Back from E3 - pt 1

So... got back from E3. I survived.

It was hot, hectic, and I've decided I'm getting rather too old for all the fuss.

I've just uploaded the photos of the trip - and I've realized they fall into 3 distinct categories:-
1. Utterly useless and random.
2. WALLace GUYford tribute
3. PS3 fandom (though I'm not too sure why)

So I'm posting my photos with the above distinctions.

1st, I present... utterly useless and random.

The jerky boy preparing

We heart Katamari blob.

This was probably the best thing on the show floor, and yes, that does speak a lot about what I thought of thi year's show. You could basically take random shit up to the Katamari area, and some nice little chap would glue gun it to a huge pile of shit.

I wanted to add some Shaba poker chips, which were more inventive than the blow up nerd swords, business cards or crushed Starbucks cups that some dullards had added. But the chap was never around when I went passed.

E3 here I come!

I'm off to the usual craziness surrounding crack town in Hell A for 1 week a year during May.

More to report later

Pretty flowers

I've also been busy prettying up the deck - it is indeed about that time.

Here's the progress

Danger Will Robinson...

I just wandered to the local yarn store to find out they have a sale starting in June... Bad news...

Especially when I tend to go there and purchase speculatively at the best of times (I didn't learn the lesson from Centrepoint, it appears - random British architectural joke - what a nerd I am). This is why I have the piles of yarn that I have.

Such as...

Fluffy Granny Smiths, as I like to call it, and this weird fluffy, shiny purple stuff.

I also got the Rowan pattern I was missing from my mammoth post below so I'm relatively all set to knit multiple things that I don't have time for.

E3 is just over a week away, so knitting goes on hold for the round of craziness that happens every year. E3 is normally preceeded with yearly reviews and the like. This year, along with a nice "thank you" bonus for the death march that making "Tony Hawk Underground 2 Remix" was, I got a promotion with associated raise! Yay!

Lastly, since I know J cares - the shoes were purchased!

That's all for now.

Oh how I covet...

First off, I'm coveting a lot of things right now. Luckily, this only includes 1 pair of shoes (for now!)

So... I keep adding and adding to this big pile of yarn that is purchased to make an ever increasing stack of patterns that I covet.

Currently - still have this on the needles.

I think I'm just over half way done... sigh

Next up, I have a bunch of patterns that I already have yarn in mind for.

I fancy this spiderweb caplet thing in SnB, despite this is a truely horrendous color in the photo, I have this yarn already

I also have some nice fluffy stuff and cashmere / merino blend to make this thing, also from SnB whatever. (Hopefully I won't look like as much of a turd as this model does in the picture).

I have this stash of Rowan Calmer that has sat around for a while with no real purpose. UNTIL I found this today.

Now I just need to find the pattern free...

I'm borderline on this thing.

It's from knitty, and is pretty cute - but I'm going a little shrug crazy and they are SOOOO last year. I do have some hot pink yarn that I could use for it (from my abortive attempt at some crazy lace work hat I was making).

Finally... I adore this pattern, but am saving up the $$$ to get the yarn / plus I'm sick of doing ribs for now - I have to wait a little before I tackle another big project that uses them (even if this is slightly quirkier).

now... back to that damn 2 x 2 rib...
